My philosophy on what I do for a living is that I focus on two things. First, I figure out a strategy to meet a business or communication goal. And then secondly, I fight really hard to make great creative that consumers actually see. I think where my skill set really comes to bear is in the second part, which is in choosing stories to tell that are timeless, appeal to the human heart, and stand apart in their medium.
I have been lucky enough to work on some amazing brands and at some amazing companies. Agencies like Fallon, Chiat/Day and McCann Erickson on brands including BMW, Ray-Ban, Harley and Microsoft. And I have worked on the company side at Roku and PlayStation. I learned early on that if I love the product the job is a lot more fun.
That’s about it for now. I went into this funny business because I loved photography and film. And because Mr. McElligot had two Porsches in his garage. And because I didn’t want to be a lawyer or banker. I’ve been energized to blend creativity and commerce into a career, and I’ve been lucky to make the rent most months for the past 20 years or so doing it.
Thanks for visiting my site. I’m proud of the work, and I’m grateful to have gotten to do some really cool stuff where we told compelling stories that folks could relate to.

Jim Harbaugh of University of Michigan wants me to switch teams from Wisconsin. Seems unlikely.
